Auditing: Now Microsoft’s document management includes the ability to create and analyze audit trails for document libraries. By configuring audit policies for a library, which write to the audit log. The following are out of the box (OOTB) events that can be audited:
- Opening or downloading documents, viewing items in lists, or viewing item properties
- Editing items
- Checking out or checking in items
- Moving or copying items to another location in the site
- Deleting or restoring items
